Summit Ridge Group Releases 392-page Publication, “The Spectrum Handbook 2018”
NEW YORK, OCTOBER 9, 2018
Summit Ridge Group, LLC announces the release of The Spectrum Handbook 2018, a comprehensive guide for wireless spectrum and its regulation. Executives and attorneys for satellite operators, mobile network operators, and wireless spectrum owners will have the book close at hand as their primary wireless reference material.
The 2018 Spectrum Handbook received praise from 15 wireless industry leaders including Lee G. Petro, Special Counsel, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and President, Federal Communications Bar Association (2018-2019):
“’The Spectrum Handbook 2018′ is a rare – and extremely valuable – guide to the business and regulatory issues affecting the use of spectrum in the 21st Century. The Handbook goes beyond the typical review of US regulatory issues by supplying the technical overview that is so often lacking from other handbooks… The Handbook is a great reference guide for both experienced telecoms professionals and those new to the industry.”
The 2018 Spectrum Handbook gives readers a great overview of the basics of spectrum regulation, satellite spectrum, international spectrum regulation, unlicensed, 4G LTE, and 5G. The book covers new FCC innovations like Citizens Broadband Radio Service (“CBRS”), the C-band, millimeter wave spectrum (“mmW”), and past and future wireless auctions. The authors, Armand Musey and Barlow Keener, produced the text of 392 pages including 124 figures of graphs and spectrum diagrams, 446 footnotes, and 30 pages of detailed appendices.
Mr. Keener and Mr. Musey have been working with wireless industry issues for more than two decades. Mr. Musey covered the satellite and wireless tower industries for investment banks including Solomon Smith Barney and Bank of America. He has prepared numerous reports on spectrum valuation and has served as an expert witness for valuing satellite and terrestrial spectrum licenses. Mr. Keener, an telecommunications and privacy attorney, has worked on both wireline and wireless areas including covering the FCC regulation of various spectrum areas including TV White Spaces, Wi-Fi, and 3.5 GHz CBRS matters.
