Robin Flynn joins as Advisor & Media Sector Consultant, Rebecca Hanson as Advisor & Regulatory Consultant, Whitney Q. Lohmeyer, Ph.D. as Advisor & Engineering Consultant

Summit Ridge Group, LLC, a leading provider of valuation and related financial advisory services in the communications sector, today announced three key appointments to its team of advisory consultants. Robin Flynn is joining as Advisor and Media Sector Consultant, Rebecca Hanson as Advisor and Regulatory Consultant, and Whitney Q. Lohmeyer, Ph.D. as Advisor and Engineering Consultant.

With these additions to its team providing consulting services to the firm, Summit Ridge Group invests and strengthens its position as a leader in transaction advisory, litigation support, and valuation advisory services. Each new member of the advisory team significantly enhances Summit Ridge Group’s expertise in advising clients in the broadcasting, satellite, and media industries.

Ms. Flynn is Advisor & Media Sector Consultant. Previously, Robin was Managing Director of Research for Kagan, a leading media research, consulting, and publishing firm and a unit of S&P Global Market Intelligence. During her 30+ year tenure at Kagan, Robin oversaw a team of analysts covering the broadcast television, radio, streaming, OTT, cable TV, and DBS sectors. Robin also authored or contributed to numerous special reports and publications and moderated dozens of semi-annual Kagan seminars/conferences. In addition, Robin has participated in the appraisal of over $30 billion in cable/broadcast properties over several decades.

Ms. Hanson is Advisor & Regulatory Consultant and brings extensive leadership experience in wireless broadband and mobile entertainment, including working as a Senior Advisor to the FCC on the National Broadband Plan and the Broadcast Incentive Auction and related reimbursement program. She has also held senior executive positions at Sprint Nextel (T-Mobile) and XM Satellite Radio. Most recently, Rebecca was EVP and General Counsel at HC2 Broadcasting group, overseeing the regulation of 250 television stations. Prior to that, Rebecca facilitated strategic communications and policy issues before the FCC and U.S. Congress relating to broadcast regulation and repacking while SVP of Policy and Strategy at Sinclair Broadcast Group. Rebecca will support Summit Ridge’s clients participating in the FCC “Rip and Replace” reimbursement program, among other projects.

Prof. Lohmeyer, Ph.D., joins as Advisor & Engineering Consultant, bringing more than ten years of technical and research experience in satellite engineering and regulations consulting. Whitney is an assistant professor of engineering at the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering and a research affiliate at MIT’s Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Previously, Whitney was the first employee at OneWeb, where she served as a communications systems engineer. At OneWeb, Whitney provided technical insight and analysis for OneWeb’s regulatory strategy, including spectrum filings, space station, earth station license application, and OneWeb’s business development team. After OneWeb, she provided regulatory and technical consulting services to more than fifteen satellite entities.
